I think a lot about space and place - what makes a place special and memorable, and what makes people want to linger, slow down, bring friends, and create bonds.

While often people think of great places as active places - sometimes we need to find relief from the urban chaos and be in a place filled with dignity, compassion, and beauty. The goal of the Open Gallery Alley project, ultimately, is to create a small urban oasis to rest the eyes and mind for a small moment, and maybe share that moment with another.

This project is supported by the Knight Foundation and 8 80 Cities through the Emerging City Champions Fellowship, and the San Jose Downtown Association.
