Last Tuesday, August 9, I hosted an Info Meeting at Cafe Eden in downtown San Jose. Truthfully, I was pretty nervous coming into it - thinking naturally if people would show up. Even after doing my due diligence in outreach, I was still thinking the worst case scenario. So to my surprise when over 25 people showed up, I was absolutely ecstatic.
That evening we went through the general context of perceptions of Fountain Alley, other alleyway interventions in other cities, the project scope, and the potential future vision. Everyone gave valuable feedback on both the vision of the alleyway, where they would like to see the project become, and general comments on the project scope itself. Many of the comments were passionate, indicative of how long people have been thinking about the alleyway.
It was great to see both longtime San Jose community members with those recently relocated. I'm really taking to heart how much people care about downtown and want to get involved.
Thanks to all the attendees whom came to learn more about the project. Thanks to everyone who helped share the meeting. Thanks to Cafe Eden for hosting us.
More developments soon.
