FOUNTAIN ALLEY POP-UP PROTOTYPE ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22
Join us on Wednesday, March 22 from 1pm to 3pm to see developed mock-ups by SJSU Industrial Design students displayed in Fountain Alley. SJSU "Design for All" Industrial Design students, with CommUniverCity and the San Jose Downtown Association, are soliciting community feedback on what they would like to see in Fountain Alley!
Fountain Alley in downtown San Jose, California, is many things to many people. Some think it is an eyesore. Others consider it dangerous. Over the years it has developed a perception of crime, drug use, and antisocial behavior. However, the one constant is that the people have never stopped thinking about it, talking about it, or imagining its potential.
a neglected space. a cherished place.
The Open Gallery Alley project aims to reboot the perception and interaction the community has with Fountain Alley by bringing a traditionally private institutions into the public commons - the art gallery. Through community-driven curation and activation, we aim to expose the potential of Fountain Alley.
